Job Description

The Wealth Management Client Associate (FP) plays a key role at Merrill. This position supports one or more Financial Advisors (FAs). It focuses on delivering personalized service to clients while promoting the bank’s solutions. The role includes managing client needs, handling operational tasks, and ensuring accurate documentation.

You will also help align practices with bank policies and support risk management. Strong communication and client service skills are essential. This is an in-office role based in New York, NY. However, some flexibility may be offered depending on business needs.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for clients, helping them reach their financial goals.

Responsibilities of the Wealth Management Client Associate (FP)

The following are the responsibilities of the Wealth Management Client Associate (FP) at Merrill:

  • Deliver excellent client service by educating clients about banking and investment services.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, responding to their service needs.
  • Prepare client materials accurately and on time, ensuring completeness.
  • Follow up on all requests from clients and Financial Advisors (FAs).
  • Ensure practices follow the bank’s policies and support risk management.
  • Help identify and strengthen client relationships through daily communication.
  • Promote the use of banking tools and services in regular client interactions.
  • Support team operations by stepping into roles during absences or peak times.
  • Lead with a client-first mindset, ensuring high-quality service at all times.

Requirements for the Wealth Management Client Associate (FP)

Given below are the qualifications, experience, and skills required for the Wealth Management Client Associate (FP) at Merrill:

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Additional certifications (Series 7 & 66 or 63/65) are preferred.
  • Must be willing to obtain required licenses within 6 months, if not already held.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in client service or financial support is ideal.
  • Experience working with Financial Advisors or within banking is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • Skilled in handling accounts, managing priorities, and resolving issues.
  • Familiarity with business development and administrative support.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to identify referrals.

Shifts

This is a first-shift role based in the United States.
You will work 37.5 hours per week.
The schedule follows standard business hours on weekdays.
There is no travel required for this position.
