Responsibilities of the Warehouse Shift Supervisor
The following are the responsibilities of the Warehouse Shift Supervisor at Capstone Logistics:
- Negotiate rates with common carrier representatives
- Operate the site with safety and efficiency as top priorities
- Write and balance daily bank deposits
- Create and transmit daily work logs to corporate
- Audit daily labor and billing reports
- Ensure daily customer requirements and expectations are fulfilled
- Resolve customer service and associate issues
- Enforce all company policies, including safety work rules
- Conduct weekly safety meetings with associate participation
- Assist in managing the site and departmental budget
- Schedule shifts based on client needs
- Interview, hire, and train new associates
- Supervise accurate and timely data entry for all services
- Oversee daily closeout tasks, including cash balancing, data uploads, and payroll documentation
Requirements for the Warehouse Shift Supervisor

Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree or Associate Degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial setting
- Proven ability in supervising warehouse teams, including hiring, training, and termination
Skills:

- Coaching and mentoring abilities
- Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Budget management and P&L interpretation
- Intermediate computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Physical Skills:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Operate material handling equipment safely
- Work in varying warehouse temperatures on concrete flooring
