Job Description
Amazon is looking for a Tech News Editor to join its Amazon News editorial team. This role focuses on editing and developing content about tech and innovation for aboutamazon.com. You will guide the editorial direction using SEO principles and audience data. The Tech News Editor involves working with internal teams and occasionally assigning work to writers. You may also travel to cover live Amazon events such as AWS re: Invent.
As an editor, you will play a key role in helping the site become the top source of Amazon-related news. This role sits within the Communications & Corporate Responsibility organization. Success in this position requires digital journalism skills, strong news judgment, and the ability to craft compelling stories that drive measurable results.
Responsibilities of the Tech News Editor

- Execute the editorial strategy for tech and innovation topics, in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Assign, edit, and develop news and SEO-driven content for aboutamazon.com.
- Partner with internal communications teams to align content with strategic goals.
- Guide and mentor writers, including freelance and staff contributors.
- Travel to cover major Amazon events like AWS re: Invent.
- Use SEO tools and audience data to drive story development and content planning.
- Maintain high editorial standards while meeting performance targets.
- Monitor performance metrics like recirculation rates and search traffic.
- Create repeatable content strategies, toolkits, and best practices.
- Adapt quickly to new tools, content trends, and technology like GenAI.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration within the Amazon News and Communications teams.
Requirements for the Tech News Editor

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in communications, journalism, or marketing
- 3+ years of experience in digital content or content marketing
- Strong understanding of SEO and use of tools like SEMrush and Google Trends
- Experience using analytics and data to guide content strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital journalism or digital media
- Experience managing web or blog content using CMS tools

Shifts
