As a Tax Intern at CapinCrouse (a CRI company), you will support nonprofit clients nationwide. This remote internship provides hands-on experience in tax and audit-related work. You will assist in preparing key financial documents, organizing client files, and entering data for various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities of the Tax Intern

The following are the responsibilities of the Tax Intern at CapinCrouse, a CRI Company:

  • Assist in preparing work papers, trial balances, and depreciation schedules.
  • Enter financial data into various accounting software and applications.
  • Support the preparation of engagement letters and client correspondence.
  • Help gather financial data and documentation required for tax return preparation.
  • Maintain client tax and audit files in an organized and confidential manner.
  • Provide administrative support for tax engagements under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Keep the internal tax library updated and assist in document control.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely delivery of client work.
  • Follow internal compliance, privacy, and data protection procedures.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance learning.

Requirements for the Tax Intern

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Major in Accounting or a closely related field

Experience:

  • No prior professional experience required
  • Previous coursework or academic projects in accounting is beneficial

Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in team settings
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
