Job Description

MeUndies, a leading direct-to-consumer brand in the apparel industry, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own, transform, and mature the ETL process and data model creation across the business. This role involves working hands-on with modern technologies and directly influencing the quality and direction of the company’s data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to gather data requirements.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, secure data infrastructure using cloud-based EDW technologies (e.g., Redshift) and AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda).
  • Design, build, and optimize ELT pipelines and workflows for reporting and analytics needs.
  • Lead technical design and code reviews, ensuring engineering excellence and scalability.
  • Create business-facing data models using DBT Cloud.
  • Monitor and support data pipelines, ensuring internal and external SLAs are met.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, aligning data infrastructure with strategic goals.
  • Perform routine reviews on database access, performance, and compliance.
  • Maintain the ETL process and provide continual improvements for efficiency.
  • Foster communication between Analytics and Engineering teams to ensure collaboration.
  • Work within SCRUM practices for product feature delivery, ensuring thorough testing and review.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in Data Engineering or Data Warehousing roles is required.
  • Proven track record of building efficient ELT pipelines, managing large-scale projects, and delivering results with minimal oversight.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL databases, and object-oriented programming (preferably Python).
  • Expertise in cloud-based EDW technologies and AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and compliance with GDPR or similar regulations.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience in DBT Cloud for business-facing data models.
  • Leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior engineers and making team-wide architectural decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Shifts

Standard 8-hour workdays. Monday through Thursday in-office, Friday is a remote workday.
