Urban Archaeology is looking for a Junior Web Developer to join their in-house team in Long Island City, NY. This is a full-time, onsite role that plays a vital part in maintaining and enhancing the company’s digital and visual presence. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Design and Marketing teams, as well as with senior leadership, to ensure the company’s website and creative materials remain current and visually consistent.
The ideal candidate brings a mix of technical knowledge and basic graphic design experience, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities of the Junior Web Developer
The following are the responsibilities of the Junior Web Developer at Urban Archaeology:
- Maintain and update the company’s website to ensure it reflects current products and brand standards.
- Support the Marketing team by designing promotional graphics and website imagery.
- Handle file management and assist with organizing digital assets used in marketing and design operations.
- Coordinate with the Design team to meet internal deadlines for updates and campaigns.
- Respond to design-related requests from department leads and the company’s founder.
- Ensure consistency in the company’s visual identity across all digital touchpoints.
- Assist in identifying and implementing gradual improvements to the website and digital tools.
- Contribute to basic administrative tasks that support the design workflow.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop visual and functional ideas for the website.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment in project goals and deadlines.
Requirements for the Junior Web Developer

Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant skills may also be considered.
Experience:
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in web development or a similar technical role.
- Prior internship or freelance experience in web design or development is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong ability to read and write clean, efficient HTML and CSS code.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript for implementing interactive website features.
- Comfortable working with macOS and using cloud storage tools like Google Drive and Dropbox.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with creative and technical teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with web frameworks like React is an advantage but not required.
- Basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus but not mandatory.

Shifts
The position follows a standard full-time weekday schedule. You will work 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
