Job Description

As a Finance Analytics Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) by helping to address high-value business questions. You will assist in conceptualizing and developing predictive models, simulations, and optimization solutions using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside cross-functional teams such as Finance, CBS Analytics, and GIT Developers to deliver impactful data-driven solutions.

You will also help to validate and continuously improve the models built and evaluate how Generative AI can be leveraged in Finance Analytics to enhance business decisions. The internship will expose you to the full data lifecycle, from data extraction to business presentation, while contributing to the company’s financial analytics efforts.

Responsibilities of Finance Analytics Intern

  • Conceptualize and build predictive models, simulations, and optimization solutions to solve business questions or use cases.
  • Apply machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to build inferential and predictive models for scalable business solutions.
  • Conduct model validations and continuously improve the algorithms, capabilities, or solutions developed.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns using tools such as BigQuery and SQL.
  • Evaluate the use of Generative AI in Finance Analytics to enhance and streamline financial analysis.
  • Support the development of end-to-end business solutions, from data extraction, preparation, and mining, to statistical modeling and business presentations, in partnership with GIT.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, CBS Analytics, and GIT Developers, to ensure effective solutions.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

Experience:

  • Experience developing statistical models such as linear regression, ridge regression, random forest, SVM, logistic regression, etc.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks) is a plus.
  • Experience coding in Python, R, or SQL preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in visualization tools like Tableau, Domo, Sigma, or Data Studio (Looker Studio).
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to apply root cause analysis and storytelling based on data insights.
  • Willingness to experiment with the latest technology to enhance analytic capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Google products (BigQuery, Data Studio, Coda, Colab) is a plus.
