Job Description

Billboard is seeking an experienced E-commerce Writer to create engaging, shoppable content covering various product categories, including artist merchandise, audio equipment, and smart home devices. You will also write in-depth reviews on the latest products hitting the market, tailored to Billboard’s music-centric audience. The ideal candidate will have experience in e-commerce writing, an understanding of affiliate marketing, and familiarity with SEO best practices.

You will collaborate across teams to produce high-quality, optimized content that resonates with our readers, staying ahead of trends and delivering timely articles based on breaking news, such as new product launches.

Responsibilities of E-commerce Writer

  • Create Shoppable Content: Write 3-5 daily pieces of e-commerce content, showcasing products like artist merchandise, audio equipment, smart home devices, and more. Ensure that content is engaging, informative, and relevant to Billboard’s audience.
  • Video Content Production: Collaborate with the video team to produce monthly or bi-monthly shopping-focused segments. These videos will highlight key products and trends and integrate seamlessly with Billboard’s overall e-commerce strategy.
  • Social Media Management: Develop and execute social media plans to promote e-commerce content. This includes managing Billboard’s e-commerce-focused Twitter and Instagram pages and posting on platforms like Meta, X, Pinterest, and TikTok. You will also coordinate with sponsored partners to roll out the social media content.
  • Event Coverage: Attend in-person events, pop-up shops, or product launches as needed, creating timely and engaging content around these experiences to captivate Billboard’s audience.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of AP Style and copywriting standards.
  • Basic knowledge of video editing (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and photo editing (Photoshop, Canva).
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience working at a news or media organization (preferred).
  • Experience with affiliate networks and link-tracking platforms (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with editorial, social, and video teams.
