Job Description

SailPoint is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer GCP to support critical infrastructure. This role focuses on managing and optimizing cloud environments in GCP, Azure, and AWS. You will collaborate with Datacenter, Network, Security, and IT teams. The position involves designing, deploying, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud solutions. You will utilize automation tools to enhance efficiency and minimize complexity. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, patching, and ensuring system reliability. You will also assist with compliance requirements, including ISO and SOC standards

The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical details. Occasional international travel may be required. Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer GCP

The following are the responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer GCP at SailPoint:

  • Plan, design, deploy, operate, and support cloud-based infrastructure in GCP, Azure, and AWS.
  • Use scripting and automation tools such as Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python, and Ansible.
  • Maintain security, availability, and performance of business-critical applications.
  • Provide technical support for Windows and Linux servers, including patching and configuration.
  • Continuously improve operations using monitoring, metrics, and automation.
  • Document changes and introduce new technologies to the environment.
  • Communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with solution architects to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Ensure architectural consistency and support disaster recovery planning.
  • Build hybrid cloud solutions involving computing, networking, and storage.
  • Participate in incident management, problem resolution, and project execution.
  • Support ISO and SOC compliance efforts.
  • Meet OLA and SLA agreements with business units.

Requirements for the Cloud Engineer GCP

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education is acceptable.

Experience

  • 3–5 years as a Cloud Engineer in an enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on work with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Practical experience operating and managing GCP, Azure, or AWS platforms.
  • 2+ years in scripting/automation using Terraform, Jenkins, Perl, Python, or PowerShell.

Skills for the Cloud Engineer GCP

  • Strong technical knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and databases.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and Windows Server OS.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Understanding of DNS and certificates.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
  • Ability to self-learn and work independently.
  • Solid understanding of access governance and global permission policies.

Certificates

  • CSP professional certifications, such as Solutions Architect or Infrastructure Administrator, are beneficial.
