Internship Description

The internship provides hands-on experience in business development. It is hosted by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits. Interns work remotely with a dynamic and expert team. They support experienced sales teams in daily assignments. The intern reports to the Director of Wine and Spirits Education. During the program, interns shadow operational functions and projects. 

Additionally, they undertake a unique strategic assignment. Furthermore, interns learn through research and detailed analysis. They assist in editing educational materials and training sessions. Moreover, interns study market trends in wine and spirits. Finally, each intern presents findings to the leadership team. 

This program fosters skill growth and career readiness in the industry. Interns gain real-world insights into the wine and spirits market. They learn key skills such as communication and research. Overall, the experience is rewarding and professionally enriching.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Intern

The following are the responsibilities of the Business Development Intern at Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits:

  • Review and improve educational materials:
    Conduct audits of current training content and recommend edits to enhance clarity and accuracy.
  • Support in-person training sessions:
    Assist the internal training team with planning, setup, and delivery of live training events.
  • Contribute to learning programs and special projects:
    Participate in the development and execution of educational initiatives, including content creation and logistics.
  • Collaborate on a strategic project:
    Work directly with department managers to design and carry out a project aimed at improving educational outcomes or department efficiency.
  • Analyze product distribution data:
    Examine sales and distribution reports to identify trends, gaps, or opportunities within the Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits portfolio.
  • Research industry trends:
    Study wine and spirits market trends across various regions, compiling insights to inform business decisions.
  • Provide actionable recommendations:
    Based on research and data analysis, suggest potential improvements in distribution strategy or product positioning.
  • Ensure pricing accuracy across networks:
    Assist in verifying and maintaining consistent pricing across all distributor platforms and systems.

Requirements for the Business Development Intern

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Experience

  • No prior professional experience required
  • Any exposure to the wine and spirits industry is a plus
