Job Description
Penske Media Corporation (PMC), the parent company to several leading brands like Variety, Rolling Stone, and The Hollywood Reporter, is hiring an Accounts Receivable Representative. The role involves managing full-cycle accounts receivable for digital and print media subsidiaries. The position works closely with the Accounting/Finance team and Account Executives, ensuring accurate invoicing, cash applications, and resolving billing issues. This role can be based in either the Midtown Manhattan or West Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities of Accounts Receivable Representative
- Participate in day-to-day accounting functions including invoice billing, cash applications, and adjustments.
- Research and resolve billing/collection-related issues.
- Reconcile deferred revenue accounts.
- Prepare and review all accounts before general ledger entry.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Process bank deposits and credit card transactions.
- Distribute AR reports weekly and monthly.
- Assist with month-end closing, collections, and audits.
- Manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of accounts receivable experience.
- 1 year of general accounting experience (preferred).
- Experience with Print and/or Digital Media is preferred.
Accounts Receivable Representative Skills:
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with great communication and time management skills.
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, and Placements IO is preferred.
