Job Description

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on IT Manager for a short-term assignment supporting the Hudson Tunnel Project in New York. This is a temporary role lasting 6–8 weeks, ideal for someone with experience in deploying Cisco Meraki solutions in enterprise environments. The selected candidate will lead the installation, configuration, and testing of network infrastructure, coordinate with ISPs and vendors, and ensure the system is fully validated and documented. 

Responsibilities of the IT Manager 

The following are the responsibilities of the IT Manager at Parsons:

  • Coordinate on-site installation with building vendors and ISPs (e.g., Cogent Communications, Natural Wireless).
  • Rack, stack, and cable Meraki MX95 security appliances and C9300L stackable switches with redundant power.
  • Mount and provision Cisco Meraki MR9176 access points.
  • Configure and test the network using the Cisco Meraki Dashboard:
    • VLAN creation per design (User, Guest, IoT, Management, Infrastructure)
    • IP addressing using 10.x.x.x schema (/24 per VLAN)
    • Port configurations and switch stack setup
    • SSID configuration and access policies
  • Validate uplink failover between fiber (primary) and microwave (backup) circuits.
  • Perform final system validation and document the “as-built” network.
