Job Description

As the Art Director at Dick Clark Productions, you will oversee the daily operations of the Creative Services team, focusing on the visual conception, development, and execution of compelling design elements. In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, you’ll be hands-on with design work and manage projects from mood boards to final execution, ensuring creative goals are met.

You’ll lead a passionate team of creatives, guiding them to deliver innovative content while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet brand marketing goals. Your role will require strong leadership, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills, balancing multiple high-stakes projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities of Art Director

  • Lead the creative process across all visual facets, from conceptualization to execution, with hands-on design work.
  • Collaborate closely with designers and editors on various projects, ensuring creative alignment.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive creative strategies that achieve brand marketing goals.
  • Guide and inspire the Creative Services team, driving innovation and maintaining high creative standards.
  • Communicate creative and operational objectives clearly to the team and hold them accountable for meeting content strategy goals.
  • Supervise project timelines, staffing, and budgets, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Represent the Creative Services team in meetings and provide relevant updates.
  • Establish efficient workflows and processes for creative projects.
  • Identify and solve creative problems quickly and effectively.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster their professional growth.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in design, with a proven track record of creating compelling visual campaigns.
  • Extensive experience in managing and mentoring creative teams.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms and designing content tailored for each.

Skills:

  • Strong hands-on design skills, capable of creating visuals from mood boards to final execution.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to work across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to lead and manage creative projects from start to finish, with a strong understanding of post-production workflows.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of delivery specs and codecs across print and social media platforms.
  • Sound decision-making abilities under tight deadlines and ambiguous conditions.
  • Passion for music, fashion, and pop culture is a must.
