Vanguard is seeking a Cyber Threat Management Analyst, Specialist to join its cybersecurity team in Dallas, TX. In this hybrid, full-time role, you will lead efforts in threat detection and incident response. You will support security operations by enhancing detection mechanisms within the SIEM framework. This position requires collaboration with internal application teams to improve threat visibility. You will guide the development and maintenance of rules, alerts, and policies to counter advanced cyber threats. 

The role also involves conducting security assessments, especially for AI-enabled applications, and ensuring compliance with enterprise security guidelines. You will mentor junior team members and support large-scale security initiatives. Candidates must demonstrate a strong grasp of current threat actor tools, behaviors, and response strategies.

Responsibilities of the Cyber Threat Management Analyst, Specialist

  • Lead and respond to escalated cybersecurity alerts, incidents, and investigations.
  • Identify complex real-time attack patterns and propose actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and detect compromises, vulnerabilities, and threat actor tactics using advanced tools.
  • Develop and maintain SIEM detections, including alerts, rules, policies, and signatures.
  • Conduct and document security assessments for AI-powered applications and platforms.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure visibility into AI workflows and telemetry coverage.
  • Review network environments to identify emerging cyber threats and propose solutions.
  • Implement and fine-tune Machine Learning and RBA-based detections within the SIEM.
  • Collaborate with the SOC to build and maintain standard operating procedures for new threat types.
  • Support enterprise-wide security initiatives and provide findings to IT and business teams.
  • Mentor junior analysts to enhance their technical capabilities and security knowledge.
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements for the Cyber Threat Management Analyst, Specialist

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Equivalent experience in security operations, incident response, or threat detection

Experience

  • Prior work in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Elastic
  • Familiarity with AI/ML platform assessments and cloud security frameworks
