This role focuses on safeguarding Toyota’s API infrastructure and AI/ML systems across its digital ecosystem. You will manage a team of engineers and analysts while working closely with development, DevOps, and data science teams.
The ideal candidate will bring leadership, strategy, and technical depth to ensure secure development, deployment, and monitoring of APIs and AI-powered tools. You’ll help implement threat protection, data security, and model governance, while staying ahead of industry risks and regulations.

Responsibilities of the Cloud Security Manager
The following are the responsibilities of the Cloud Security Manager – API/AI at Toyota Financial Services (TFS):
- Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on API and AI security initiatives.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for securing APIs and AI/ML systems.
- Oversee the implementation of security controls for API gateways, authentication, and data protection.
- Guide the secure development and deployment of AI/ML models.
- Ensure protection against adversarial threats, data leakage, and model misuse.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to embed security in all stages of development.
- Conduct and oversee threat modeling, risk assessments, and security testing for APIs and AI tools.
- Define and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices related to API and AI systems.
- Stay current with emerging threats, tools, and regulatory requirements in the cybersecurity landscape.
- Report on security posture, risks, and incidents to senior leadership teams.
Requirements for the Cloud Security Manager

Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial position involving security teams or initiatives.
- Direct experience with API security architectures and AI/ML system protection.
- Familiarity with implementing security strategies in large, enterprise-scale environments.
Skills for the Cloud Security Manager
- Deep understanding of API security frameworks, including OAuth2, JWT, and rate limiting.
- Proficiency in configuring and securing API gateways like Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Kong.
- Knowledge of AI/ML system security, including model training, inference, and secure data pipelines.
- Awareness of threats such as model inversion, prompt injection, adversarial ML, and data poisoning.
- Strong command over security frameworks like OWASP API Security Top 10, NIST, and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Ability to conduct threat modeling, penetration testing, and risk analysis for APIs and AI systems.
- Clear and effective communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong team leadership and people management abilities in a technical environment.
Certificates
Industry-recognized certifications are preferred, including:
- Certified API Security Professional
- GIAC Machine Learning Security Engineer (GMSE)
- CISSP, CCSP, or OSCP
