Internship Description

The City of New York is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated HR Analytic Intern to join its Human Resources team during the summer. This on-site internship offers students or recent graduates the chance to gain hands-on experience in HR analytics. The selected HR intern will support data-driven initiatives by helping create dashboards, analyzing recruitment trends, and assisting in developing employee performance metrics. 

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the intersection of HR, data, and technology. Interns will also contribute to internal training materials and explore best practices for using AI in recruitment processes. Responsibilities of the HR Analytic Intern

Requirements for the HR Analytic Intern

Given below are the qualifications, experience, and skills required for the HR Analytic Intern at the City of New York:

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current college student or a recent graduate (winter or spring of the program year)
  • Enrollment in a program related to Human Resources, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field

Experience:

  • Prior internship or academic project experience in HR, data analysis, or administration is helpful
  • Familiarity with research or reporting tasks in a professional or academic setting is an advantage

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or SQL is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to explain technical topics in simple terms to a non-technical audience
  • Interest in HR analytics, recruitment, and AI technologies
  • Willingness to collaborate and take initiative in learning new systems and tools

Shifts

This is a full-time summer internship scheduled between June and August.
