Skanska USA Civil is seeking a motivated Civil Accounting Intern for its Summer 2025 Internship Program. Responsibilities of the Civil Accounting Intern
The following are the responsibilities of the Civil Accounting Intern at Skanska USA Civil:
- Assist with daily accounting tasks under the guidance of the Director of Financial Administration – Civil Accounting
- Support the preparation and review of financial records and reports
- Perform data entry and maintain organized financial documentation
- Help with reconciliation of accounts and general ledger updates
- Work collaboratively with the finance and accounting teams on cost tracking and reporting
- Apply basic mathematics and accounting principles in real-world project settings
- Utilize software tools such as MS Office and other construction accounting systems (e.g., HCSS, CGC)
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to financial discussions related to project performance
- Uphold Skanska’s values of ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability in all tasks
Requirements for the Civil Accounting Intern
Given below are the qualifications, experience, and skills required for the Civil Accounting Intern at Skanska USA Civil:
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field
- Equivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education
Experience:
- Prior internship or academic exposure to accounting or finance is preferred, but not mandatory
Skills:
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes
- Proficiency in mathematics, including geometry and basic algebra
- Familiarity with MS Office tools (Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of construction-related accounting systems, such as HCSS or CGC, is a plus

Shifts
The Civil Accounting Intern position at Skanska USA Civil is a full-time, onsite internship during the Summer 2025 term. Interns are expected to work standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Specific daily schedules will be discussed and finalized upon onboarding, depending on project needs and intern availability. Flexibility may be offered in accordance with academic commitments.
