Responsibilities of the Human Resource Intern
The following are the responsibilities of the Human Resource Intern at Salas O’Brien:
- Support the implementation and optimization of HRIS systems, including Elevate
- Assist in enforcing HR policies and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards
- Review and approve timesheets and expense reports in line with internal policies
- Collaborate with managers to create and post internship descriptions for recruitment
- Participate in the recruitment cycle, including screening, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations
- Maintain and update the Recruiting Status list to keep stakeholders informed
- Coordinate the hiring process—from drafting offer letters and conducting background checks to completing the onboarding checklist
- Take part in the mid-year performance review process and bonus assessments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employment records
- Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Identify and report potential employee relations issues
- Perform other tasks as assigned by HR leadership
